We picked the next generation Hispanic (2nd, 3rd, and 4th) as our primary “target group” because they have the ability to “tap” into the “untapped” resources that are available in the U.S. I mentioned a few in my last post.
The Hispanic landscape is changing all over the U.S. There is a new generation who is making their mark in society by becoming doctors, lawyers, teachers, business owners, CEO’s, artists, musicians, etc. Some of these “groups” of people are not being reached. They are not being reached because they cannot relate to the “current style” of ministry most Hispanic churches in the U.S. practice.
I’m not saying they’re all bad, nor am I saying that God isn’t using them. I’m just saying that there is an HUGE need for new, life-giving, cutting edge, spirit filled, Great Commandment and Great Commision churches, who are doing all they can to reach the next generation for Jesus!
Most Hispanic churches in the U.S. are using old, outdated systems, structures, and methods. Most are not using the power of creativity, or the power of technology to reach the lost.
Well, isn’t the power of the Holy Spirit enough? Acts 1:8 says, ” But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” God wants us, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to make a difference in our communities, cities, and the world. Sometimes we limit what the Holy Spirit can do thru us by not understanding how God has made or wired us.
Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Satan is using every imaginable method to “win” the next generation for the world. He’s using the media, entertainment, video games, the internet, technology, etc. to draw away those who could make an impact for Jesus in their lifetime.
Imagine if the Holy Spirit, in conjuction with using our creativity, technology; using methods, systems, and structures that are relevant, practical, and effecient. Imagine what that would look like in a Hispanic context?
We could reach the next generation for Christ. We could strategically “launch” new Hispanic churches where they are needed. We could help the needy and troubled become “somebody” in society. We could influence our communities, cities, country, and the world for Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19-20). The Hispanic local church in the U.S. could make a much greater impact for the Kingdom of God!
There is a GREAT need for new Hispanic churches in the U.S. Churches who will not be afraid to be on the front lines, on the cutting edge, to win the lost for Jesus.
